About Censilcoat

Factory roots, export discipline — an integrated manufacturer and trader from Fujian since 2010.

Censilcoat is the waterborne-matting sub-brand of Censil, an integrated manufacturing-and-trading operation: our own silica plant in Fujian plus an in-house export team handling QC, documentation, logistics and after-sales. We sit between the giants' expensive "price umbrella" and the low-end price war — a defensible position built on 1:1 parity, real customization and factory-direct speed.

Quick answer

Who is Censilcoat, and why trust a newer brand over an established supplier?

Censilcoat is the waterborne-matting sub-brand of Censil, an integrated manufacturer and trader that has run its own silica plant in Fujian since 2010 — we produce, we don't resell someone else's powder. That reactor-level control over particle size, pore structure and wax coating is precisely what makes a true 1:1 benchmark replacement possible; it cannot be done from a trading desk. An in-house export team handles QC, documentation, logistics and after-sales.

Our story

Censil started in 2010 as a silica producer in Fujian, China — running our own plant, not reselling someone else's powder. More than a decade of production experience in precipitated silica and surface treatment is what makes a true 1:1 benchmark replacement possible: matching a European grade takes control over particle size, pore structure and wax coating at the reactor level, not at a trading desk. Today Censil runs as an integrated manufacturing-and-trading operation: our own plant, long-term qualified partner plants for volumes beyond in-house capacity, and an experienced export team — so one supplier covers production, QC, export documentation and international logistics end to end.

Censilcoat, our waterborne-matting brand, was built on a simple observation: two trends are converging in Southeast Asia. Manufacturing is moving there — furniture, plastics, 3C — and environmental regulation is pushing coatings from solvent to water at the same time. Waterborne matting agents are the hard-demand growth market where those two curves cross.

European suppliers serve that market through layers of distributors, freight and tariffs. We serve it factory-direct: 20–30% lower cost, flexible MOQs, and a formulator on the other end of the chat — in a market we're focused on, not one we cover from a regional office three time zones away.

Where we sit in the market

Three tiers compete in Southeast Asia's matting-agent market. Our position in the middle is the safe one.

Tier 1 · Monopolists

US / EU / JP giants

Evonik (OK 412), Grace (ED 30 / RAD 2105). Extremely high price ($6,000–$9,000/ton), monopolizing premium formulations and sold through large distributors taking ~20% margin.

Source: Pricing, distributor margin and lead-time figures on this page are based on customer quotations and import documentation collected by Censilcoat in Vietnam and Malaysia, as of July 2026. They vary by grade, volume and incoterm — ask us for the comparison against your own last purchase.

Tier 2 · That's us

Censilcoat

Technical manufacturer with our own Fujian production base since 2010. Censil660, Censil1650A and the full range — 1:1 benchmark replacements, 25–30% lower price, with customization and hands-on support.

Tier 3 · Commodity

Low-end silica plants

Ordinary precipitated silica and untreated matting powder. No wax-treatment technology, prone to hard sediment — unable to enter the premium waterborne / UV market.

The giants' soft spot: Evonik and Grace sell into SE Asia through large distributors (Brenntag, DKSH, Redox) who add ~20% — keeping end prices high. As a factory-direct manufacturer, we sit precisely between that expensive price umbrella and the low-end price war. It's a safe niche.

Why customers choose us

20–30% lower price

No layered freight and tariff markups passed down through global distributors.

Real customization

Tunable d50 (3.5–7.0μm) and surface wax-coating ratio to your specific dry-film thickness.

Waterborne specialist support

"Matting + fumed-silica thixotropic anti-settling" combo advice, 24h Zalo response.

2–3 week lead time

Only 3–7 days sea freight from main Chinese ports to Vietnam — vs. 4–8 weeks.

Flexible MOQ

500 kg – 1 ton flexible minimums — not 5–10 tons or a full container.

REACH compliant

Declaration of Conformity (DoC) provided for confident, compliant import.

Our market focus

Vietnam and Malaysia are our primary markets — Southeast Asia's fastest-growing coatings demand — alongside established business with customers in Europe and the Americas.

Tier 1 — first to win

Local distributors (10–50 t/mo)

Each holds 30–50 local furniture- or plastic-coating plants and buys by the full container (10–12 t). Win one, and you ship 1–2 containers a month. They handle local customs, invoicing, delivery and credit terms.

Tier 2 — keep lines busy

Coating manufacturers (2–10 t/mo)

Mid-size waterborne wood-coating plants running 100–200 t/mo of paint at ~3% loading consume 3–6 t/mo of matting agent — one container lasts 2–3 months.

Tier 3 — margin icing

Auto & 3C plastic coatings (0.2–1.5 t/mo)

Ultra-thin 10–15μm films mean low volume but very high unit price and rich margin — perfect upside once Tier 1 and 2 are stable.

Sustainability, built into the product

Our core business is enabling the solvent-to-water transition. Every ton of waterborne coating that replaces a solventborne system cuts VOC emissions at the customer's plant — and waterborne-optimized matting agents are what make that switch possible without sacrificing finish quality.

The material itself is high-purity amorphous silica (≥99% SiO₂, no crystalline silica) — non-hazardous, REACH-compliant.

Efficient chemistry is green chemistry: higher matting efficiency means 1–4% dosage instead of over-dosing, and 3–7 day regional sea freight to Southeast Asia carries a fraction of the shipping footprint of intercontinental supply.

Low-VOC enabling No crystalline silica REACH compliant Food-grade QMS Short regional supply chain
