In our laboratory’s parallel test (2025 Q4 – 2026 Q1, waterborne acrylic semi-matte system), a commercially purchased OK 412 sample measured d50 6.3 μm against Censil361C’s 6.0 μm, with Hegman fineness 27 μm vs 25 μm. At equal loading, matting efficiency and clarity rated equal or better for Censil361C, and it showed no blushing at 85% RH where OK 412 blushed slightly. Note the structural difference before you trial: OK 412 is an organic-wax-treated silica at 130 m²/g surface area; Censil361C is a high-melting-PE-wax-modified precipitated silica at 265 m²/g — bench-trial at identical dosage before scaling.
Unlike our other benchmark pages, which reproduce figures from manufacturers’ published datasheets, every value in this table was measured in our own Fujian laboratory: we purchased ACEMATT® OK 412 commercially and ran it in parallel with Censil361C in the same waterborne semi-matte system over 2025 Q4 – 2026 Q1. On the bench, the two grades sit close where it matters for a semi-matte waterborne line: d50 6.0 vs 6.3 μm, fineness 25 vs 27 μm, and low viscosity impact for both at equal loading. The differences are structural. OK 412’s 130 m²/g surface area and 1.5 mL/g pore volume against Censil361C’s 265 m²/g and 1.8 mL/g translated, on our panels, into equal-or-higher matting efficiency at the same dosage — which is why Censil361C is recommended at 1 – 4% against typical OK 412 guidance of 1.5 – 7.0%.

In our parallel test both rated low viscosity impact at equal loading, and Censil361C additionally showed no hard sediment over 7 days in the waterborne system. Verify in your own formulation — rheology is system-dependent.
